Year 5 brought festive cheer through singing old and new Christmas songs to the group at Tea and Chat. After the sing-a-long the children chatted with those there and this generated much laughter! It was another example of how our children are able to empathise with those older than themselves in a respectful manner, bringing back memories for many of them. It started Christmas off for everyone!
Ardderchog Blwyddyn 5!
Please join us for the Friend’s Christmas Fayre – Thursday 30th November. Many stalls and activities and of course Santa! 5-7 pm, school hall.
On Thursday afternoon, despite the weather, St David’s Church was full for our Harvest Festival. Fairtrade Council and School Council were involved in the service, reminding us about caring for those less fortunate than ourselves. Singing filled the church with wonderful performances by the whole school of their harvest songs. Our thanks to Mrs Williams for leading the service. Your generosity in donations for the Brecon Foodbank has been overwhelming and all goods will be used to support others in our community. Thank you everyone for your support.

Congratulations to Elis for Foundation Phase and Cerys for key stage 2, winners of the eco code competition. Their entries impressed the judges and are now displayed around school. Thank you to all who entered the standard was very high.
The choir performed a wonderful concert, singing items on their own and with the Aberhonddu Male Voice Choir to raise money for St David’s Church on 5th December. They were outstanding and true ambassadors for our school. Diolch pawb – you helped raise nearly £1000 for the church!
Members of our Eco Council presented to the full Governing Body the presentation which helped secure our Eco Platinum Flag. Governors were very impressed with the range of work and initiatives undertaken. The pupils should be very proud of all they have achieved.
