We were thrilled to host a visit from members of the Zulu Royal family on the last day of the Summer Term. They were joined by Kirsty Williams, Cabinet Minister for Education, Steve Davies, Director of Education for Wales, South African Embassy representatives and members of the Regimental Museum. The occasion was to commemorate Rourke’s Drift. Every child at school was involved in greeting the Royal party and guests. This was followed by an assembly celebrating Welsh culture and education. The visitors joined the children at breaktime and visited classes. It is hoped that this will be the beginning of a cultural link between our school and Queen Mpumi’s school in Natal – enhancing our global awareness and citizenship.
